The history of the brand Andrea925 and of its creator Andrea Mastrolorenzi are closely related. Class of 1975, Roman, Andrea grows up between design, jewelry, the creation of unique pieces absolutely original and in the family workshops he breathes the artistic spirit that will mold him and that will never leave him over the years.
It was in early ’90s when, after completing his studies at the High School of Art, he decided to approach the goldsmith’s workshop of his parents in a more conscious way and to get into the game with his ideas.
The 90s, the years of dance music and clubs, of Italy that discovers that rhythm, that music and that atmosphere full of life.
Andrea in those years hangs out in this world: he travels around Italy’s underground clubs, he meets many people of his age, many well-known DJs and many music lovers like him. Everything he perceives, the energy of the trends he can see evolving and the people he meets and surrounds himself with, all create in him the belief that this change should also be reflected in the jewels he works with and creates with his own hands. The jewels enhance each and every one’s personal look and must therefore, according to him, necessarily approach a more contemporary world, renew themselves, express the evolving styles and fashions, be closer to young people who want to express themselves through the clothing they wear. His personal idea of fashion becomes stronger and stronger.
The world of fashion linked to jewels that he imagines and creates is for him a unisex one, which has jewels involved in clothing more than ever, for women and men without any distinction, for daily life from the morning when you go to work until the evening when you go out.
Andrea adds details to his clothing that makes it recognizable and celebrate and show his ideas and his work. Details that can identify his creative flair and his personality and he does it with accessories which he will never part with again: his jewels.
The greatest struggle encountered in those years was that, in the 90s, referring to jewelry still meant gold and that is why, thinking about his style and that of the people he met and hung out with, and the deeply changed times, he decided to go on with the creation of his silver jewelry. Merging the underground style with rock, punk and all the influences that came to him from the outside, from his journeys, from the trends and the music world, he chose silver as the most suitable metal for daily life and his creative work.
In time, his style and these new ideas are noticed, the trend of those years accompanies him, his charisma comes directly to those who already know him as well as to those who do not yet but are still curious.
Questions about the origin of the jewels he created become more and more frequent and the passing of the word is an immediate process. His notoriety grows through a spontaneous social network, made up of straight forward suggestions among people who often barely know each other but who have known Andrea’s products and, being satisfied with them, become advocates and recommend them to others.
In an era in which Internet did not have the strength it has now, in which in order to be known you had to be physically present and really put your face on it, Andrea is there explaining how he creates that bracelet, that ring or that charm by hand molding wax and using the tools he has in the family workshop, he has no limits of construction, everything can be created. He talks to his customers and gives them tips on workmanship and what can be the best performance for their jewel. That’ s how the lives, the emotions, the passions of so many people begin to become jewels. So the rumor runs, the fame grows and his work becomes a brand that will bear his name combined with the title of the metal he is so fond of: ANDREA925. Over the years, he will also add to his logo his trademark *232 RM, inherited from the family jewelry shop and belonging to them since 1972. The trademark identifies the manufacturer and creator of each jewel by means of a tool called a punch. Each punch is unique and has a serial number that identifies the workshop followed by the province to which it belongs. The star represents the Italian Republic, the number identifies the manufacturer, in this case ANDREA925 is the 232nd workshop in the tradition of manufacturing precious metals in Rome, RM is the county where the workshop is located.
